It now provides us with an array of models for watches which draw inspiration from vintage timepieces. They bring forward amazing designs and novelty. Its most famous timepiece was the Aquascaphe dive watch. Featuring a classic design this diver’s timepiece is attractive and full of charm. About Baltic

Etienne Malec, the founder of Baltic, has a strong passion that motivates him. He was given an exceptional group of watches from his dad that he cherishes. He displayed a unique talent for design, and continued to launch his first collection. He made use of a crowd-funding campaign and managed to make the neo-vintage HMS and Bicompax quite famous. Working to become a solid brand, they moved forward from their initial position as a kickstarter company. Releasing their retro-styled Aquascaphe Classic, their vintage-looking dive watches became a staple of the brand. With an attractive design inspired by the 1960s, this timepiece would mark the beginning of their expansion. A traveler’s watch idea was also given a try with the Aquascaphe GMT. Meanwhile, the Aquascaphe Dual-Crown presented a more contemporary vision.

Aquascaphe Titanium 41mm – Overview

The  Aquascaphe Titanium 41mm is a bolder version in this collection. It comes in a slightly larger case made of titanium. The upgraded features as well as the higher resistance add to its worth. Surely, they stayed true to their original concept, however, the Aquascaphe Titanium 41mm provides a rougher and more adventurous look. They kept the Aquascaphe codes, but they added a layer of high-tech elements.

The original Aquaschape was made of steel and it came in a 39mm case. It was designed to allow for a 200m water-resistance. The diving bezel featured a sapphire insert which drew inspiration from the bakelite Rolex bezel. The dial was paired with smaller markers and elegant hands. The overall aesthetic of the watch created a retro feel. It served as a great lifestyle sports watch and it could easily withstand a quick dive. The question was: How would they move from this timepiece to a more efficient diver’s watch?

The answer was simple. They would have to incorporate materials with a higher resistance and durability. That’s how they came up with the newer Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium. This timepiece featured a larger case and specially chosen materials. The grade 5 titanium was properly brushed to create a lighter and more appealing case. Since titanium is highly resistant to corrosion and much lighter than steel this choice was particularly wise.

The second upgrade relates to the design. Obviously, this Aquascaphe is similar to the other models in terms of looks. Even though the diameter is larger, the lug-to-lug is kept the same as with the 39mm version. The outer parts seem and feel bolder, The wider bezel and sharper edges create a rougher look. An internal guard is implemented to protect the crown. The caseback made from titanium as well as the internal guard are secured by screws. The water resistance is now up to 300m. Although this timepiece is more durable and stronger, it remains reasonable in size thanks to its 47mm lug-to-lug.

The unidirectional 120-click bezel also comes with some improvements. The same retro-styled look is present, however, the edges are sharper and more pronounced. The insert is made of ceramic and it displays a brushed surface. This adds to its utility, creating fewer reflections. The overall aesthetic leans on a tool rather than a shiny accessory. Super-LumiNova is used to fill up the minute scale.

The dial flatters the functional case. Similarly to the Aquascaphe Dual-Crown, the dial of this timepiece is protected by a sapphire crystal, domed in shape. The dial comes in two color schemes, either a shiny blue or grainy black. The oversized markers are paired with larger hands, which feature an anti-reflective surface. The display is kept minimalist as it doesn’t  include a date window. You can get the lume in either a white-over-blue combination or a light cream-over-black variation.

The movement

Baltic makes use of movements sourced from Japan. That’s how they keep the price ranges more reasonable. For the Aquascaphe Titanium an automatic movement was used – the Miyota 9039. This movement with a frequency of 4Hz offers a runtime of 42 hours. Its reliability, durability and low-maintenance make it a practical choice. Available in a rubber band, this timepiece comes with two strap length options. You can choose either a blue or black strap. A titanium pin buckle is used to properly secure the watch in place.

The price

The Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium 41mm is released in a series of 600 timepieces. Each color has 300 watches. This new release will later join the permanent series. A bit more pricey than the classic Aquascaphe, this watch comes with a price of EUR 710. However, considering its added features and better technicality, this watch delivers great value for its price.

Final  Words

The Aquascaphe Titanium has taken the Aquascaphe Classic to a more advanced level. It is the perfect partner for any exciting activities due to its lightweight yet durable titanium case, 300m water-resistance, and 42-hour power reserve. These features will provide you with the assurance to carry out your most daring explorations and trips with ease. The Aquascaphe Titanium has a diameter of 41mm and comes in two color options: glossy blue and textured black.

The Baltic Aquascaphe Titanium has a neat and basic look. It is a classic dive watch. Some may think that it is too similar to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and Rolex Submariner, but it is wonderfully crafted. It makes a carefree daily diver’s watch and it is apparent that the designers put in a lot of effort to make it perfect. It is a clear demonstration of the enthusiasm of Malec and his team. They have obviously worked hard and achieved something great.
