The 21,600 VPH movement achieves a happy medium between accuracy and durability. High enough that it provides punctual timekeeping and low enough that the movement will be well-preserved for years and years to come. Moreover, the watch is equipped with an Incabloc shock protection system, which we will explain in more detail below.
The Incabloc Shock Protection System
The fragile pivots of the wheel are protected from damage by the Incabloc shock protection system, also known as a spring-loaded mounting system for the jewel bearings that support the balance wheel of a mechanical watch, in the event of a physical collision, such as when the watch is accidently dropped. This innovation was made in 1934 by Swiss engineers Fritz Marti and Georges Braunschweig. Compared to their support mass, pivots, and jewel bearings that provide support to a watch’s balance wheel are fragile and vulnerable to damage upon impact if not protected. This is where the Incabloc shock protection system plays its role.
The mechanism employs a spring that has a shape resembling that of a lyre to enable the delicate bearings to shift within their settings when subjected to impact. This movement continues until a more robust section of the staff comes into contact with the sturdy metal end piece, which relieves the pivots and bearings from bearing the majority of the force. After the force of the impact goes away, the springs lead the components back to their initial positions. It is important to note that while the jewel bearing remains stationary, it is housed in a metal bushing that has freedom of movement within the metal end piece under spring control.

St. Petersburg comes with a skeleton dial. Apart from the square case, the skeletonized face is what attracts the most attention.
